About the Historical Society

We are a welcoming, energetic organization; connected with the City, offering relevant programming for the community and schools where current, former, and future residents can learn and reminisce about the history of St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

The mission of the Society is the collection, preservation and dissemination of knowledge about the history of St. Louis Park Minnesota.  To learn more about us, visit one of the following pages:

Volunteer: There are many ways one can volunteer with us.  We are looking to establish more programming which requires a good idea and someone to execute it.  There is ongoing help behind the scenes like setting up at events, or sending membership letters.  And there are bigger projects like publishing our next book!  Click to learn more!

Membership: We need your support!  Funds raised through membership help us pay for everything from our website and newsletter to rent and office supplies.  If you are feeling generous and believe in supporting our organization, you can make a donation.

History of Society: Find out about the founding of the Historical Society and the historic Milwaukee Road Depot.

Governance: We are a non-profit led by the Officers and Board of Trustees.  Click here to find out who we are, minutes from past meetings, and our bylaws.

Re-Echo: Click here to find back issues of our newsletter, the Re-Echo. If you are not native to the Park, the Echo is the SLP high School newspaper, so our title is a nod to that long running publication that was important to so many of our members.

Collection Policy: We have fairly standard policies regarding what items we keep in our archives.

Directions and Hours: Also on our home page, but please email us if you ever want to visit outside of our normal hours.
