This business opened in the Park in July 1978 at 5807 W. 36th Street. Company President was Leonard Ribnick, who owned the business with his brother-in-law, Harold Scherling. The two also owned and operated the 50-year-old family automotive parts business that was in the same building. The store manager in 1978 was Mike Schoenberger.
The original building was torn down and Luggage World moved to 5727 W. 36th Street.
