THE MCGARY FAMILY

The McGary family has a long tradition of citizenship and service to St. Louis Park.

Omar R. McGary and wife Clara (Bett?) lived at 4220 Brookside Avenue, at least from 1930-1964 (it could have been as early as 1924, when they moved to the Park). Omar R. was many things: he built houses at 4221 Alabama in 1927 and 4227 Alabama in 1949 – from a kit. He was a self-taught veterinarian and farmer, and he drove a truck for the Village. At the end of his life he moved to Nebraska.

Children of Omar R. and Clara McGary:

Son Omar L. McGary was born on October 20, 1914 and moved to St. Louis Park with his family in 1924. He married wife Ethel on January 11, 1942.
