This was the site of a series of drive-ins.
In 1950 this was a model for what was hoped to be a string of Dairy-Mor Drive Ins.
The franchises were being sold by Bud Rodberg and E.D. Perkins. Bud owned the franchise at 3877 Wooddale Ave. For a while, Wagner’s Drive-In was a Dairy-Mor, and there was one at 3080 Excelsior Blvd. in Minneapolis.
By April 1956 it was the S & K Drive Inn, listed at 5010 Excelsior. “Coney’s” was their specialty.
And in 1960 (below), we see the Park Drive-In, selling pizza, hamburgers, coneys, etc. The picture was taken in February, so there’s not much action.
