This home was built at the turn of the last century.
In 1907, it was rented to the Kellers, who were the parents of Anna Brown. John Thomas and the Thomas family have generously provided the photo below. The caption reads “Mrs. Brown’s parents rented this house on Goodrich near Alabama in the years before World War I. Shown are Mrs. Keller with Monroe, left and Wallace Brown in 1907. The house is still standing but the grazing cows are gone.”
The 1933 directory shows this house as the home of Earl Sewall.
On August 1, 1957, Phil A. and Marie E. Thomas bought the house, where they raised their seven children. In 1987 they had the house gutted for rehab, but it had to be demolished. John Thomas and his family have provided these photos of the home before it was torn down.
