This gas station, located at Lake and Highway 7, opened on October 1-2, 1949 as the (George T.) Butler and (Harry) Holmberg Direct Service station. They took out a full page ad in the Dispatch on September 30, 1949. The station cost $21,000 to build and had two pump islands. Butler lived at 3050 Ottawa and Holmberg was from Minneapolis. The two operated the station until at least 1960.
The station was demolished in May 1966 – at the time it was Nutter’s Shell.
It was still a DS station in 1969, and had five pumps.
In 1970, Paul Haase ran Park Seven Shell, and in 1975 it was called Sunset Shell.
The current building was built in 1981 for Holiday.
