In 1893 this was the home of J.E. Bonney.
There is evidence that this was a Texaco station in 1950, although it may have (also) been the location of Louis Berkowitz’s store. It was not unusual for stores to have gas pumps in front so it may have been both. There was also a house (5121 Minnetonka) removed on this corner on March 6, 1952.
The present building was completed in December 1952.
In March 1953 the Park High Echo had an ad for B & E Texaco. The 1953 Echowan had it as B & F.
In March 1954, the Echo had two separate ads for the same address; one said B & E Texaco and the other said St. Louis Park Texaco.
1954
In September 1955 the Echo ad said Norm’s SLP Texaco. From at least 1955-1965 it was Norm’s SLP Texaco, Norm being Norm Wilsensky. Paul Linne says: “Norm was one of the very few Jewish gas station operators in the area, and pretty much had all the Jewish business locked up.”

In 1971 it was owned by Mobil Oil Co. (Below)
Like many gas stations in the city, it became a car repair business – since at least 2007, Dunrite.
2007
In 2012 Dunrite Automotive was named one of AAA Approved Auto Repair’s TOP SHOP. They have received this achievement for the last 4 years and 7 of the last 10.
